Taste of Powys at the Royal Welsh Show 2009
Taste of Powys
worked with Powys County Council to host a lunch reception at the
Royal Welsh Show and invited the media along to taste samples of
local food and meet producers from accross Powys. This is included
ITV Wales interviewing Pam Honeyman from Monty's Brewery live on
the lunchtime news. Information packs were also made available
which provided information on food and drink producers in Powys and
the value of local produce and highlighted the distinctive food
culture of Powys.
Meet the Producer
Taste of Powys joined with Local Food Talks (True Food Marketing) to contribute towards hosting two Meet the Producer events across Powys. The Local Food Talks programme is creating a whole series of complementary events aimed at all sectors of the food tourism and hospitality sectors to raise the profile of Mid Wales as a food tourism destination, by increasing the range and quality of the local and regional food on offer. The event in the Newtown has been in association with the Mid Wales Food and Land Trust and Medwrn. The event in the Brecon has been help along with Brecon Beacons National Park, Medwrn and Adventa.
