The day was opened by Martin Fitton from the Welsh Transition network and consisted of 6 discussion groups, 3 food and 3 energy run throughout the day with a ‘Any Questions’ session in middle of the day. All the information from the discussion groups and the ‘Any Questions’ session will be available on this web page once it has been collaborated.
The Powys Heritage Welsh Veg project.
Dyfi Valley Seed Savers have been awarded funds for a project designed to identify, test and catalogue Powys vegetable varieties that are not listed. The project will raise awareness of the importance of vegetable diversity which will also help realise the opportunities of climate change and peak oil issues. This will be done by increasing the understanding of reducing food miles, reducing food packaging and promoting fresh, healthy locally produced food in a rural context by producing vegetable varieties that have adapted to the conditions of mid Wales.
