Festivals and Events
Powys is already proud home to a number of successful and well known distinctive festivals and events such as the Royal Welsh Show, the Guardian Hay on Wye Festival, Workhouse Festival, Gregynog, and Bog-Snorkelling! Just to mention a few.
Few people are aware however of the full range of excellent festivals that exist in the county, from village shows to Welsh music festivals, lantern processions to green fairs, film festivals to classical music extravaganzas, walking festivals to sporting events, arts festivals to heritage and re-enactment events, dog shows to wool festivals - carnivals, parades, food festivals, fireworks and more and more and more!
The Powys Festivals and Events project aims to provide festivals and events in Powys with support that will help them increase and enhance the benefits to their valued local communities, participants and visitors.
Additionally the project can provide support and funding for groups wishing to run a new or enhanced event in their community.
By providing opportunities for all those involved locally with festivals and events to network, share their knowledge and expertise, and take advantage of joint marketing initiatives, we aim to highlight the county's vibrant calendar of events and to work together towards a positive and sustainable future for festivals and events in Powys.
