Welcome to Glasu. Our activities are part funded through the
Rural Development Plan for Wales 2008 to 2013 which is financed by
the European Union and the Welsh Assembly Government, as well as
Powys County Council. We are a rural development initiative
providing assistance and support to businesses, individuals and
community groups in Powys.
Financial Support for Micro Businesses
Grant scheme and other opportunities now available!
Supporting micro businesses in the Powys renewables sector to further their knowledge and become leaders in their field. Encouraging confidence in renewable energy and sustainable practices, helping to promote energy awareness and increase the uptake of new technologies.
Green holidays for visitors to Wales
Choose from a selection of environmentally-friendly hotels, bed & breakfast and self-catering accommodation, places to eat sustainable, local food and enjoy green activities. All have been graded by the widely recognised and respected, Green Tourism Business Scheme and all are aiming to reduce their negative impact on the environment as much as possible. All business have also achieved good "star" grading with either VisitWales or the AA.

The rich cultural heritage of Powys and the variety of locally made products are everyones business! The project may be able to support your venture to be sustainable or develop your idea.
Taste of Powys
Food is travelling further than it ever has before, often hundreds of miles from where it was produced to the homes where it is consumed. If you invest locally, it is the local community that will see the result.
