Willows in Powys
This project is designed to identify, promote and maximise opportunities for the development of craft willows in Powys. The project will support the whole supply chain and will work with and for producers, processors and users of willow.

The main aim of the project will be to investigate different varieties of craft willow that will grow successfully in Powys, carryout product development to look at new products and research into accessing new markets.

The project is driven by a core group of producers and users in Powys including the Wales Biomass Centre which is carrying out the growing trials.

Project Objectives:

• To deliver a collaborative approach to the production and use of the material,
• To develop and deliver the supply and demand aspects of craft willows,
• To encourage the greater use of craft willows as an alternative crop,
• To ensure that the industry is promoted throughout the County.
