Volunteer HelpersCollaboration
Building on the success of the LEADER+ approach, an additional focus to Action 2 projects is collaboration with LEADER+ groups and partners in other regions, including:

Complementary development
The purpose of collaboration is to develop the natural resources (eg, forestry, timber, sheep, wool) of the respective LEADER+ areas in a coordinated and complementary manner, avoiding duplication.

Sharing information and Best Practice
In addition to regular, ad hoc communication between staff from each region, collaboration is further aided by quarterly Collaborative Discussion Boards, a Comparative Analysis Study and Conference to share information and best practice.

Different regions, common themes
Within Action 2 programmes individual LEADER+ groups work together under a common theme. For example the overarching theme, "From Seed to Saw" embraces the two partners' individual projects:

  • Glasu focuses on demand and supply of tree seed and tree seedlings.
  • Complementing this, Adventa, focuses on, sustainable woodland management, marketing of local timber, supporting local employment. and woodland interpretation.
